The National President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, (NULGE), Comrade Ambali Akeem Olatunji, has called for concerted efforts to rescue Nigeria from total collapse.

Comrade Ambali Olatunji, who made the call at the 7th State Quadrennial Inauguration of the newly-elected Executives of NULGE in Kogi State, decried the worsening economy, insecurity and concluded that the country is on the brink of collapse. The National President said Nigeria is drifting due to bad leadership, as the last four years have shown that the country has no one in charge, drifting with nobody in control.
He stated: “This is not the Buhari Nigerians voted for”, and urged Nigerians to pray and rise to the occasion to elect credible leaders in 2023.
The NULGE National Chairman lamented that the country is going through the worst of insecurity, adding that the Federal Capital Territory is now vulnerable to insurgents. He described the current insecurity challenge as a shame to the present administration. He further lamented the current challenges bedevilling the country, calling on Nigerians to review happenings in the polity, as according to him, Nigeria has become the headquarters of poverty, insurrection, joblessness and all sought evils in Africa.
He called on the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), to resign their appointments with immediate effect since they have lost ideas to restore sanity to the economy. He lamented that Nigeria is now a country that has no one in charge, pointing out that 2023 is time to vote out poor leadership and to vote for visionary leaders without sentiments.

The National President further urged the Local Government employees to vote only for Leaders who are in support of local government autonomy, while praising the Kogi State Government and the State Assembly for the passage of the LG autonomy Bill.
Comrade Olatunji described the current challenge of insecurity, joblessness, poverty, insurrection witnessed in the country as unfortunate.
He noted that the challenges cannot be placed on the doors of Local Government Administration, since, the present Government, has technically killed Local Government Councils He further advocated for community-policing as a solution to insecurity and a remedy for the precarious security situation the nation has found itself in.
The National President called on the APC, PDP, and Labour Party presidential candidates to make Local Government Autonomy the major ingredient of their manifestos, warning them of the consequences of their actions against it.
